living in L.A. now, but some of my best memories of D.C. are of the Canal. I was
greatly saddened upon hearing of the flood damage - I wish I was there to volunteer.

Comments: Kathy - surfed into your homepage from the C&O Canal
homepage and checked out several of your links - great
webbin'! I lived in Rosslyn (Arlington VA) for a year
in 91-92 when I was on a year assignment to NASA HQ. I
had a great time including biking/running the C&O from
Georgetown.

I'm getting inspired to put my homemade pizza expertise
on the web - actually have my pages/files outlined - but
it will be a while since I'm new to HTML.

Houston is having record cold this weekend, but no snow/ice -
no comparison to what the east coast has gotten this year!

Time to surf outta here - stay WARM, Coye

Comments: Thanks for your posting to dc.general about the flood. Most of the access (Great Falls (VA & MD), Swains, Pennylock) were closed. However they were letting people in by Old Angeler's inn, where the towpath was visibly 'blown away' in at least 2 places. The park ranger I spoke to said that this was easily as bad as the 85 flood, and it may take a year for the park to recover (or even reopen). I was hoping to bike the canal from end to end this summer, so I will keep an eye on this page for updates. Thanks again!

He's now trying to convince me to take a week in mid- to late March to hike the C & O. I'm afraid there won't be enough wilderness. I'd like to at least hike where I can't hear any traffic. Will the C & O fill the bill? Again, thanks for all the homepages.

Comments: found you from technomads list.
My web page is devoted to my hobby. Ham Radio, specifically mobile operation.
We Amateur TV, and play with a vehicle location program called APRS. This uses a GPS and a small transmitter to send a Ham Wanderer's position back to PC's running a certain program attached to a packet radio modem (or scanner)
A nomad-watcher can use a common scanner and a 100.00 radio modem with his pc to see us wandering all over the USA and World (sometimes)
Technomads are Ham Radio Operators a lot of times (Steve Roberts for example), but I never see any nomads using APRS, or Mobile Amateur TV!

What a delight to see colour photographs! A decided improvement over most that I have seen. You may wish to change the photos as the seasons do, possibly displaying a winter scene in summer & vice-versa (or whatever). Well done!
