CHAPTER 13

ORIGINAL SIN

            The Christian Bible says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death." The church talks a lot about original sin, being born in sin, the sin of man, sinful flesh and so forth. So what is sin? Suppose I did not ever, had never and would never do any wrong. Suppose further, I had never, did never and would never think anything wrong. Suppose also, I was positively a good man, good father, good husband, good citizen, good church attendee and on and on. Suppose the worst thing I ever did was to dirty my diaper as a child. Now am I still a sinner according to the teachings of the church and Bible?

            The doctrines of almost all the Christian churches say, I Am! Why? Because the sin they are talking about is the sin handed down to me with my conception. It came through the genes of my father and my mother. They call it Original Sin. Let me ask the church some questions about it and let the church answer.

            Q. Is this original sin carried through intercourse?

            A. Yes. You are a sinner because you were born into the sinful human race.

            Q. And that makes me a sinner? Why?

            A. Yes, because you are a descendant of Adam.

            Q. Well, what did Adam do that was so bad?

            A. He disobeyed God.

            Q. How did he do that?

            A. He partook of the forbidden fruit.

            Q. What, pray tell me, is the forbidden fruit?

            A. He took from the Tree of Knowledge. He became wise enough to know the difference between good and evil, like God.

            Q. Was that a literal tree, or do you speak symbolically?

            A. Probably symbolical. In either case, Adam's sin doomed all of mankind.

            Q. Could you tell me how this happened?

            A. Yes. Adam and Eve, the first and only people God ever created, were placed in a beautiful garden. God told them they could have the run of the garden. He also told them they were not to partake of the fruit (of understanding) at the Tree of Knowledge. The Devil, pictured in the symbolic form of a snake, seduced Eve to partake of this fruit of Knowledge. Then Eve persuaded Adam to partake of it. As a result, God threw them out of the garden and cursed them and he cursed the earth. That was the original sin, Adam's disobedience.

            Q. Could you be more specific? How could the Devil possibly convince Eve that she should partake of this knowledge (understanding) at the Tree of Knowledge?

            A. The Devil told her that God lied to her when God said they would die the same day they partook of wisdom and knowledge at the Tree of Knowledge. The Devil said they would not die, but would live long fruitful lives. He showed Eve that they could learn secret hidden truths and would become wise and have wisdom and knowledge, and be able to separate the good from the evil, like the Gods. They were shown knowledge and wisdom at the Tree.

            Q. And did they die the Day they took from the Tree of Knowledge

            A. Well, yes, and no.

            Q. Then, they did live long fruitful lives and gained knowledge and wisdom?

            A. Yes. But they died spiritually. They became sinners because they disobeyed God.

            Q. Doesn't the Bible also say they did become wise and they had the knowledge of good and evil like the Gods?

            A. Yes it does. But you see the knowledge of knowing good and evil was what God was trying to Prevent. They were supposed to remain innocent.

            Q. You mean, they were supposed to stay dumb and ignorant?

            A. We prefer to say, innocent.

            Q. Then everything the Devil said was the truth, wasn’t it? They didn't die that day, and they did become smart like the Gods. Isn't that right?

            A. Well, yes, and no. Spiritually they did die.

            Q. Are you saying to have knowledge is to die spiritually?

            A. Yes! God did not want man to have wisdom and knowledge.

            Q. In other words, God wanted man to remain dumb and ignorant?

            A. Innocent.

            Well as I see it, God told the first lie in the Bible and the Devil told the first Truth. As I see it, the Bible God wanted man to be a mental slave living in ignorance. The Devil God wanted man to become wise and learn to think and separate the good from the bad - like the Gods. Somebody must have gotten the nametags mixed up. It sounds like the Devil God acted more like a good God should act, and the Bible God acted more like a Devil should act. Which one is the Bad God? Did the Bad God, or the Good God write the Bible? Think about it!

            Now let's see if we can put our finger on this original sin business. It seems to me, original sin boils down to thinking logically, doubting authority, experimenting and acting honestly after weighing the facts. In other words according to the Bible, Adam and Eve were the world's first to utilize the Clear Thinking Philosophy. And of course, for doubting authority and thinking logically, they were censured by the religious powers of that day - just like today.

            Look carefully at Adam and Eve's position for a moment. If Adam or Eve had actually Believed God, they would have thought they were committing suicide when they began to learn from the Devil God at the Tree of Knowledge. Would they have committed suicide like that and then been surprised when they didn't die? I doubt it very seriously. Adam and Eve had enough evidence and proof that they plainly and simply Did Not Believe the Bible God. And the facts of the matter proved that Adam and Eve were right in their conclusions. They did gain knowledge and they didn't die. Adam was an unbeliever, a disbeliever, an honest doubter.

By the Correct definition of Atheism, Adam and Eve were the first Atheists because they Honestly Doubted and they Honestly Thought. That is the original sin! The first sin in the Bible is not disobedience. The First sin, the real Killer Sin was, and is, Honest Doubt and Clear Thinking!

THE FIRST ORIGINAL SIN IS
HONEST DOUBT AND CLEAR THINKING!

            Adam and Eve surely do look like Clear Thinkers to me. Actually, none of this happened. This is a Myth copied from the Babylonian religion just like the flood story. Tribal priest, in order to enhance their ability to rule over the people, put several of these myths together. These myths added authority to their claim that they were speaking for God. Through these myths, they got the obedience of those who would believe these unbelievable myths (lies). Thus, began the rule of fear and guilt over these believers.

To be ruled over (become mental slaves), the people had to have guilt and then fear placed into their minds. Original sin is just such an all-inclusive idea used to place guilt and fear into the people's minds. Tell them early enough and often enough and most people will believe that this unbelievable tale is so. It cost a great deal to have the priest or minister lead you into salvation from this original sin. You see there is first the cost of your mind and your thinking ability. Then you lose your independence, your manhood (or humanity), your pride, your logical thinking, your honest doubt and your self-respect. And let's not forget your future!

            In place of all those things, which make you a man or woman, you must accept the role of mental slave or captive and become like a well-trained dog. You must do and think only what is told you by the priest, minister, rabbi, church order or holy book. Then you must give of your time, talents and legal tender to the church in order to bring more of the Lost into the kingdom.

            The second aspect of sin is what is called personal sin. You have heard the old expression, "If it is fun, fattening or makes a fortune,” the church says, “It is a sin.” My experience is the more the church, the Bible and the ministers talked about those wonderful, dreadful things, the more I wished to find out about them. These activities (sins) would never have occurred to me, or interested my mind, if the church had not displayed them so desirably and vividly to me. The church is constantly reminding their attendees that these sins have a very strong and pleasurable appeal and can only be overcome by the power of God, which they also claim to Possess.

OF COURSE, THE CHURCH WANTS YOU TO DO

SOME OF THESE SINFUL THINGS!

            That places a heavy burden of guilt and fear on your mind. Then the church is there to absolve you and relieve your mind - and your purse. Don't forget. If there is no religious sin, there is no salvation from it, no salvation, no heaven. No heaven, no hell. If there is no religious sin, then there is no reason to believe the claims of the Holy Books or Holy men. So at all cost,

THEY MUST MAKE YOU BELIEVE IN RELIGIOUS SIN!

            Religious Sin is the Only real power they have over you. Think about that! The power and influence of the Christian religion stems from getting You to believe in this religious sin myth they talk about. The church has declared that any wrongdoing is a religious sin. They have even declared that certain normal and harmless things are now to be considered as a religious Sin.

So, we have an invisible prescription (salvation) for an invisible disease (sin).

            Doesn't this sound a bit like the Emperor's new clothes?

            I once knew a man who was in the glass business. The times he got his best business was when homes and businesses got their windows broken. During hurricane season, he spent hours studying the weather reports. When a real tropical storm was spotted, he sat up at night watching its progress. When it turned into a hurricane, he became ecstatic. When it moved in the direction of his territory he could hardly restrain himself. He once confessed to me that during some hard times he had personally broken a few windows to get enough money to keep the little company and family going.

            If you sell umbrellas, you are going to hope for rain. If you sell sunglasses, tanning oil and towels, you hope for sunshine. If you sell war equipment, you are going to work for war. If you lend money, you will try to get your interest and principal back and sometimes keep the collateral.

            When you sell forgiveness for sin, you are going to stimulate business. Sin has a great “PR Department.” I have talked to many preachers and ministers who would sit and swap sordid stories with each other about their unnamed church members. Then these ministers would tell how they used that knowledge about their members' vices to get large contributions for their building fund, for raises, for special favors and for votes for pet projects.

            Let's talk for a moment about Personal Sin so we can get Original Sin into perspective. Personal sin is what you “Do or Think” that is classified by the church as a religious sin against God or man. First, personal sin keeps the machinery of religion oiled and moving forward. Without religious sin and all the guilt and fear that the holy men can pump into it, the religions of the world would grind to a halt.

Religious Sin is the necessary oil that greases the wheels of religion.

            Second, they have invented sins for everyone, children, old folks and those in the prime of life. Certainly, we know about the wrongs of rape, theft, murder and such. But how about pride, greed, lust, blasphemy and disbelief? How about if a man lust in his heart, he is as guilty in God's eyes as if he had actually committed the act? What rape victim would agree with that stupid conclusion? What brain short robbery victim would Ever believe that? Statements such as that found in Matthew 5 includes every man, woman and child. It might even include lots of dogs, cats, bulls, cows, horses and rabbits to name a few others. (Maybe someone will make up a new religion that will save animals - for a price, of course. They do that with babies and boats, you know.)

            Third, many of the so-called religious sins are things that you and I like to do, or actually do in the course of our daily lives. Were it not for the church saying these things were sin, we would give them no more thought than taking a bath. The church would even have us believe the body is sinful and it is sinful to admire a nude body, especially our own.

            The Clear Thinker laughs at these pronouncements of personal sin by the church. They do not laugh at the results. People Believe these things Are religious sins that will send them to hell. They are therefore, at the mercy of their own guilt and fear, and at the mercy of those who profess to be able to forgive (cure) this concocted disease they call original sin and religious sin.

            Fourth, the forgiveness of religious sin is not cheap. First, you must give up your Mind, your honest thinking and your rationality. Only Then can you feel any guilt or fear. Christians will tell you, God forgives freely. However, after forgiveness you must be baptized, one way or another, depending on the church or denomination. Then you must become a member of the Body of Christ. That is, you must associate yourself with a particular church or denomination. To join, you pledge to support the Body of Christ with your time, talents and tender (pay check). Believe me, they do not let you forget your pledge. So, you give money and you give time that could have been more wisely spent. You must also give your Children. Which brings us to the core of the matter.

            Fifth, the religions want your children. They want to infect your children with the guilt and fear (disease) of sin. They want to train them to be Mental Captives and capture them to finance the on going expensive program and power of the church. The aim of the church is to make guilty sheep out of you and your children. The only leverage they have to accomplish this is Fear and Guilt. Your fear and guilt can be manufactured by getting you to believe in original sin and in religious sin, which they teach you and your children to believe. And they teach you how to do it.

YOU MUST BELIEVE IN RELIGIOUS SIN BEFORE
YOU CAN BELIEVE IN THE PLANS OF SALVATION.

            Religious sin is the most needed commodity for the continued operation of the church. Without the concept of religious sin the church could not operate. It is absolutely necessary for you and your children to be taught to believe that sin is a bona-fide item before any of the other doctrines can be taught you. You must be taught how to sin. The most important sin to be taught is the doctrine of Original Sin. Everything in the Christian religion is based upon the concepts that man can sin against God just by being born and by honestly thinking about these unbelievable claims made by religion.

ORIGINAL SIN IS THE MOST PROFITABLE LIE
EVER TOLD TO MANKIND.

            Original Sin is also the second most unbelievable doctrine taught by the religious, just after prayer. How could any kind of God, especially a good God, condemn all of mankind because Adam and Eve wanted to know more about the world in which they lived? If there were a God, as the religious tell us, would he give us a brain and then condemn us for trying to exercise it? Could we possibly have been given curiosity and honest doubt and be condemned for using these intellectual tools for finding out the truth of these matters? I ask again, which God wrote the Bible?

            According to the church, its Holy Bible and its doctrines, looking for the truth (Honest Clear Thinking) is the Worst religious sin you can commit! Honest Doubt is Unpardonable.

            Can man be punished for Not Being Able to believe? Belief is Not an exercise of the will. One cannot Will himself to believe something that to him is unbelievable. One can only believe that which to him IS believable. He believes only what he has been brainwashed into accepting as the truth.

KNOWLEDGE LIMITS BELIEVABILITY.

            Knowing what you know now, could you believe the earth is flat? If your salvation for all eternity required that you believe the earth is flat, could you actually believe the earth is flat? No! You could not believe it! You could lie about it. You could swear on your mama's grave that you did believe the earth is flat. But, You Could Never, Never Believe It. Many honest people died by the unclean hands of the church because they also knew the earth was not flat. They knew lots of other claims were untrue. But don't forget this. Your great, great, great grand children Could be brain washed into believing that the earth is flat. Ignorance (innocence) is fertile ground in which to plant the seeds of lies and superstition. The more ignorant a person is about the facts of history, science and life, the more lies and superstitions he can believe.

THE MORE YOU KNOW THE LESS YOU CAN BELIEVE.
THE LESS YOU KNOW THE MORE YOU CAN BELIEVE.

            When you study the facts, you cannot believe in this religious disease called original sin. You cannot believe in any kind of religious sin. You cannot believe in the cure (prescription) for this disease. You cannot believe in a salvation such as the Bible describes. You cannot believe in a savior as the Bible describes. You cannot believe in hell as the Bible describes it. You cannot believe in a jealous, vengeful, juvenile God such as the Bible describes. You cannot believe in a something for nothing heaven, such as the Bible describes.

            There are lots of things I wish were true. There are a lot of teachings about heaven that I wish were true, but I cannot believe they are true because I have studied and “thought” about these things. In light of the known knowledge in these areas, the possibilities do not include room for the religious sin doctrines of the churches to be true. Religious sin is a lie. Original sin is a lie.

THE VERY CORE OF THE RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS

TO BELIEVERS - IS FALSE.

            Some say the knowledge gained by Adam and Eve was sexual. If there were a God who got mad at me for just being born, I would not want any part of such a God. Sex and conception is the way nature reproduces offspring. Such a thing could never be considered bad of itself. It is simply a fact of life. Sex is a Scientific Subject. If sex and conception can be considered anything, it must be counted as good. It is nature’s way of carrying on intelligent life in the world. It does not hurt either consenting participants. It is fun and feels good. In addition, our bodies are so developed and evolved that the lack of sex can be as upsetting as trying to have too much sex. Neither could a God get mad at me for desiring to know more about the world we live in and for studying, thinking and partaking of the understanding and wisdom found at the Tree of Knowledge.

            Any God worth his salt, would get mad at Me for Not using the brain he gave me in order to understand the world around me, to understand who I am and who God is. A Just God expects us to use Honest Doubt and Clear Thinking to separate the true from the false, the moral from the immoral and the good from the bad. No Good and Just God would wish us to believe something just because someone in a robe waved his hand and said, “It is the truth.” I am still wondering which God is responsible for the Holy Bible.

            The concept of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in Genesis includes morality, but it is not limited just to being good or bad. Good also includes the Good of farming, language, science, construction, mathematics, manufacturing, astronomy, social relationships and government. In other words, Good includes all types of knowledge needed for the civilizing process of mankind.

            The Bad or Evil includes the knowledge of those things that destroy the civilizing process like war, religion, crime, theft and other types of dishonesty and superstition.

            The Devil God, pictured as a Snake, introduced Adam and Eve to Knowledge, all of it. He did not simply introduce them to some vague concept of how to be naughty, or how to be nice. (Details of this garden story are dealt with later.)

            There is absolutely no basis for claiming that there is such a thing as original sin. The only item available is a barbaric myth that no sane person would believe if he but spent one full hour actually “thinking” about it and asking honest questions about the subject.

            Religious sin is just another Myth (lie) that religion and its priests have Invented in order to get into your pocket book, into your head, into your family, into your freedom, into your time, into your children and into your life. Original sin not only does not exist, it is a clever lie used to place awe, guilt and fear into the minds of gullible, weak and non thinking people. Original sin was invented by religious leaders for the early barbaric mind. These religious leaders sought to get something for nothing from those who would believe this unbelievable lie. The amazing fact to me is that it still works on modern man. Does modern man still have a barbaric mind? Only you can answer that question. When you see and understand that original sin is a lie, you will be Free.

            Here in lies a secret. The original sin is actually the sin of Disbelief. Disbelief, (honest doubt) is the unpardonable sin as we have seen. Therefore, since there is no original sin, there is no unpardonable sin. No sin, no salvation from it. No salvation, no Jesus savior. No Jesus, no Christ. No Christ, no Christianity. So, you have a circle of lies upon which the church is built.

            Remember, there are no civil records or writings that have any information on the various claims of the church about Jesus, the apostles, Paul or the early church. Think about that!
