Electron microscope picture of the Lambda bacteriophage.
On the left is an icosahedral head and extending to the
right is a ribbed tail that comes a point in the last 6
ribs. A man sits at a table holding a knife and fork and
staring puzzled and angrily at a plate that has a lambda
phage on it.

Lambda lunch update: 12/2/12

·     If you are interested in a two-day hands-on SEED workshop (Comparative genome analysis) to Valerie de Crecy is organizing for the DC area this spring, let me know.  She is trying to get a rough idea of level of interest.
-  Send me your nominations for WALs, 2013-2014 by Dec. 7th (new, earlier deadline).  These should be excellent speakers who will appeal to the broader NIH audience and have not recently been here. Voting will be week of Dec. 10th.  Lists of past speakers can be found at ;http://wals.od.nih.gov/NIHLecturersAtoZ.htm.
·      The Stadtman candidate seminars are beginning.  Some with prokaryotic topics are highlighted below; the full list (still being updated) is available at https://ccrod.cancer.gov/confluence/x/VwQSBQ.
