Electron microscope picture of the Lambda bacteriophage.
On the left is an icosahedral head and extending to the
right is a ribbed tail that comes a point in the last 6
ribs. A man sits at a table holding a knife and fork and
staring puzzled and angrily at a plate that has a lambda
phage on it.

We're looking forward to doing our first entirely on-line lambda lunch
tomorrow at 11:00. You should have all gotten the forwarded invite
from me on March 23^rd; I am also including it here.

WebEx plans:
 1. Please mute your audio and turn off your video. Much as we want to
see you, we need to keep the necessary images to the presentation.
 2. I may not be able to do much if the connections are not good, but
send me chat messages (via WebEx) or emails if you think this is
something general we can try to address.
 3. Note that there are phone-in options as well as web options for
accessing the talk. If it is feasible, we will try to send out a
version of the slides ahead of time for those having problems
    seeing video.
 4. I think we still do want to allow questions throughout (obviously
unmute for that, then mute again), but be a bit more selective,
please; we'll see how this works.

4/2/20*: Christopher Jones (A. Ferre-D'Amare lab): "Sensing stress:
how bacterial RNAs regulate gene expression"

4/9/20*: Alison Hickman "Casposase biochemistry links DNA transposition
to CRISPR-Cas spacer acquisition."

4/16/20*: Narumon Thongdee (PhD work; now postdoc with G. Storz) "A
m7G46 tRNA modification, modulates hydrogen peroxide stress response
of Pseudomonas aeruginosa by positively controlling the translation
efficiency of catalase transcripts"

4/23/20* and May/June/July dates: Speakers needed. Listed outside
speakers unlikely to be able to come

4/30/20*: Gigi Storz et al

5/7/20*: (Unlikely; alternative speakers welcome) Michael Gebhardt (S.
Dove lab, Harvard) (G. Storz)

5/21/20*: If we are back: Meet in second floor conference room
(renovations to 6^thfloor)

5/28/20*: (Unlikely; alternative speakers welcome) Julian Langer (Max
Planck Inst., Frankfurt) (G. Storz)

6/10/20: 1 PM, Natalie Strynadka (U. British Columbia) Membrane Protein
Interest Group seminar (Anirban Banerjee).

6/11/20*: (Unlikely; alternative speakers welcome) Corentin Baussier
(P. Mandin lab, Marseille) (G. Storz)

1/27/21: WALS, 3PM, Masur Auditorium, Kim Orth (UT Southwestern)
"Black spot, black death, black pearl: The tales of bacterial
effectors"

1/28/21*: Kim Orth (UT Southwestern)

(3/10/21: WALS, 3 PM, Masur Auditorium, Paul Turner (Yale U.)
