- Warp Transformations in Photoshop CS2
- Photoshop CS2 adds a new transformation type to the Edit > Transform menu called Warp. With the new Warp command you can transform layers into a variety of predefined shapes, or use the custom option to push and pull your image around according to an invisible grid.
- Spot Healing Tool in Photoshop CS2
- The spot healing tool is different from the existing patch and healing tools in that it does not require you to make a selection or define a source point before using it. You can select a blending mode for the healing, and choose between proximity match or create texture. You can also sample all layers which allows you to use the spot healing tool on a new layer for non-destructive editing.
- Noise Reduction Filter in Photoshop CS2
- This tool helps to reduce the grainy appearance of images shot in low light or at high ISO speeds. It can also help to remove compression artifacts from JPEG images. The tool is available from the menu: Filter > Noise > Reduce Noise. As you can see, there are controls for adjusting the strength of noise removal, the percentage of details preserved, the amount of color noise reduction, and the amount details should be sharpened. There is also an option that can help to reduce the appearance of JPEG artifacts from too much compression. In advanced mode, users can also perform noise reduction on a per channel basis. Users can also save specific settings as a preset.
- Smart Sharpen Filter in Photoshop CS2
- Smart Objects, Smart Guides, Layer Enhancements in Photoshop CS2
- Photoshop CS2 introduces a new type of layer called a Smart Object layer.
Smart Objects are a little like symbols in Illustrator. Smart objects can consist of pixel-based content or vector-based content, like an Illustrator drawing placed in a Photoshop document. With smart objects, you can make multiple copies of a single object and all copies will be updated when one of the copies is edited — but you can still apply layer styles and adjustment layers to the individual smart objects without affecting all copies, which provides for a lot of flexibility. Pixel-based smart objects also remember their original size and can be transformed multiple times without loss.
